COURSE DESCRIPTION

 Phlebotomy and IV insertion require technical skill, precision, and confidence. Medright’s three-day program combines instructor-led education, realistic simulation, and supervised hands-on practice to help participants perform these essential procedures safely and effectively.

Participants receive individualized instruction, opportunities to refine their technique, and practical guidance for recognizing and preventing complications.

Day 1 — Phlebotomy Fundamentals

  • Equipment selection and preparation
  • Antecubital and hand-vein assessment
  • Straight-needle and winged-infusion techniques
  • Recognizing and preventing complications
  • Hands-on practice using training manikins

Day 2 — Supervised Phlebotomy Practice

  • Supervised venipuncture using straight and winged-infusion needles
  • Individual coaching and technique refinement
  • Emphasis on safety, accuracy, and patient comfort

Day 3 — IV Skills Training

  • Anatomy and physiology relevant to IV placement
  • Infection prevention and aseptic technique
  • Catheter, fluid, and equipment selection
  • IV insertion and stabilization
  • Monitoring, complication recognition, and discontinuation
